Job Description

Job Title: Data Engineer, Safety Systems. Location: San Francisco, CA (Relocation assistance provided)

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines for user event data.
• Develop canonical datasets and dashboards to monitor user growth, engagement, and revenue metrics.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Infrastructure, Marketing, Finance, Research, and Data Science teams to meet evolving data needs.
• Ensure high data integrity, security, and compliance with internal and industry standards;
• Contribute to data architecture decisions and system reliability practices;
• Implement ETL workflows and schedule data jobs using tools like Apache Airflow or Prefect.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering, with 8+ years in general software engineering roles.
• Proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java.
• Experience with distributed data processing frameworks like Spark, Hadoop, or Flink.
• Familiarity with distributed storage systems such as HDFS and Amazon S3;
• Expertise in building and managing ETL pipelines using Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect;
• Strong understanding of Spark performance optimization and debugging.
